Today is the day they're picking the winners for the 6/6/2012 matinee Book Of Mormon performance...and we won two tickets! For those who are unfamiliar, the producers saved the email address for everyone who entered the lottery over the past few months, and the entire audience for the 6/6 matinee performance will be pulled from those names. And did I mention, we won 2!!!
I just got an e-mail and my sister did as well. It says seats are General Admission - does anyone know how the seating works? Do people camp out on line to get the best seats? I've seen the show from standing room twice and it will finally be nice to actually have a seat - any seat!
From what I know they basically went seat by seat in the theater a pulled out a name per seat or pair so the seats a assigned by when your name was picked.
I got an email notifying me of the win today, YAY! Curious, those who went last year, how did it work, you pick up your passes first and then wait on line to get in?
I know this is a long shot, but if anybody happens to get 2 seats that they're unable to use, I would be forever grateful if I was able to snag them! My best friend and I both entered multiple times and did not win, and the show happens to be on his birthday. Of course, if requested, I'd be more than willing to pay some amount, as this would be a special show for him and I! Many, many thanks! :)
I sent them an email asking them to clarify the general admission process. Got an auto-response saying that I'd get a reply within 48 hours. I'll share the info when I get it.
Kirby - per the info, they're being VERY strict about tickets not being sold or transferred. The winner and guest BOTH have to be their when tix are picked up, and both with photo ID.
You'd think they could just let people draw seat locations out of a hat when they come pick up the passes- the idea of the fan performance is so fun, it would be sort of a shame if a general admission policy meant hours long waiting lines to get in, etc. I mean I'd almost just rather just do the standing room line than have to deal with a 1000 people camping out for first dibs on seats
I went last year. I'm not sure what time I got to the the theater but it was early, around 8 and there were already about 40 people in line. While we were waiting to go in staff members came outside to verify our names and our +1s and give us wristbands. The seating was ga and so they let about twenty people or so go in at time and they could sit wherever they wanted. As the seats started to fill up it was getting hectic with people trying to find seats.
I won last year. It was fantastic. I think I got there 8 or 9am...sorry I forget. I got on line at the corner and quickly it went down 8th and then around the next corner. I was able to get a seat about half way down in the orchestra on the aisle left side. Perfect seats for me. Have a great time - congrats!
