Sorry, don't see how either of the last two are even remotely entertaining.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I've seen the scarface vid...totally staged...not as a schoolplay but for the 'director' to make a youtube vid.
But yes, better.

"Entertaining in a --- schadenfreude kinda way---to the extreme level."
I'm with dramamama. I don't find any of this funny, but two people...being seriously injured, one of them bleeding...is entertaining to you? On any level? I think you need help.
I guess you don't watch America's Home Video's either! I don't see what's entertaining about someone's true embarrassment or pain. (Even through Schadenfruede!)

No, dramamama, I don't - or Jackass, or anything from that genre. I feel a little sick that anyone would find someone screaming in pain and bleeding after being punched in the face, or carried off the stage semi-conscious after a blow to the head remotely amusing.
Nope, me either, Ghostlight. I don't think stupidity is funny either.

Just opened Legally Blonde last night and had quite a few falls occur.
-During serious Elle got up and knocked over the table! -During OMGYG One of the the girls fell down the stairs -During Chip our Emmett tripped -and when Enid gets out of the shower she also fell down three sets of stairs.
Oranges, hope the rest of your run goes more smoothly.
And I agree, seeing anyone get hurt is not funny. I had only watched a few videos when I commented and some of those (the beast's erection, for instance) were pretty hilarious.
I am totally anti Jackass and the ilk and I think that the only reason that some of these make me laugh is that I am an awful klutz and have taken my share if tumbles and missteps on stage. I tend to laugh at myself when I fall down or make a glaring mistake too. And, what I love best is that in almost all of the cases, the show must (and does) go on, which is what makes live theater so much fun.
Just my 2 cents :)

You could have stopped at "i guess that's my sick humor" , because that's what this thread has become.
And no, you didn't remove the punch one - you removed the one where the guy was knocked semi-conscious and dragged offstage.
You use your "world-weary experiences" as an excuse to be desensitized. You're not in the minority regarding experience. Many of us are fans of John Waters and many of us have experienced our share of death and pain - we are not freaked out or shocked by pain, but I, personally, never find pain entertaining (consenting adults aside). You're digging a deeper hole for yourself trying to defend using those clips as a "theater oops".
Based on the amount of entries you have posted yourself in this thread (that you began), I'm beginning to wonder if you aren't developing an unhealthy fetish for seeing people either embarrassed or in pain. It's really sad that "nothing amuses [you] much anymore ", but that other people's pain and embarrassment do.
What could have been a mildly amusing thread has turned really ugly.
What a fun thread! My school did Grease, and there were a few minor, yet pretty funny mishaps that happened to me and they were caught on camera. Now, i'm a Youtuber so I talk to the camera, but the video clips are in the video so bear with me haha. Enjoy! :)
Not sure why you are taking this so personal or attacking me for it or psychoanalysis for my links. must be a fetish of yours Nor do I need to explain myself on taste Or what's funny. Nor do i need your approval of whats funny for you or me. If you don't like it. Move on. It's that simple.
I was finding clips as I went along to add to the dialogue.
Don't open the thread if it doesn't amuse you and go bitch somewhere else.
Ah, that's the beauty of this board, taboo. You get to post whatever they allow here, and I get to comment on it.
Honestly, does anyone else on this board, even on this thread find a video of a woman bleeding on the floor, screaming in pain after being punched in the mouth "entertaining"?
I object to that. I object to that strongly. The rest of it? Meh. Not my cuppa, but whatever floats your boat.
Some people are reading too much into it. Its simple slapstick and its hilarious. None of the injuries were major. If they were, it wouldn't be funny. But my god.. these were.
And I or anyone else on this board should never apologize for what they find funny to them. To each their own in their journey of life experiences. And if it's not, no biggie.
